New T&AAC Initiative ‘In Conversation With Artists’ – First Up: Audrey Ross
The Tweed & Area Arts Council (T&AAC) is pleased to announce a new initiative: ‘In Conversation with Artists’.
Every couple of months the work of a featured artist will be displayed in various venues throughout the village of Tweed. These will include Quinn’s of Tweed Fine Art Gallery, the Marble Arts Centre (when the new Atrium is completed!), and the Tweed Public Library. The artist and venues will be announced on the T&AAC website, social media and in The Tweed News. At each venue a poster with a QR code will take the viewer to the T&AAC website where you can find a short story and link to a video of the artist in conversation about their work and inspiration.
The inaugural video and display of art features a local legend, Audrey Ross. As you may know, Audrey passed away earlier this year, shortly after our interview with her. She was most generous with her time and full of stories after years of painting in and around Tweed.
A selection of Audrey’s work is now on display until Sept. 30 at Quinn’s of Tweed Fine Art Gallery (in the front window) and the Tweed Public Library (in the meeting room).
