Feb. Newsletter: Arts Alliance / Community Partnership and More…
In January, we met with some other local organizations that have arts-related events or mandates. Representatives from T&AAC, Tweed Music Festivals Inc., the Tweed & Area Studio Tour, Tweed & Co. Theatre, Tweed Agricultural Society, Tweed & Area Heritage Centre, and the Tweed Lions Club attended. We shared information (e.g., our current calendar of events, planned initiatives) and explored opportunities to work together. Committees have been formed to advance the building of volunteer capacity, and to coordinate advertising and communications efforts. We are excited about this opportunity for an Arts Alliance focused on collaboration amongst the local arts community! This aligns well with our 2022 Strategic Plan, as our vision is: “Enriching the cultural life of the community through the arts”. We will:
- Foster connections with and between artists and the community
- Produce, promote, and support arts experiences
- Collaborate to raise awareness of the arts
- Encourage participation of all in the arts
