Tweed & Co. Breaks Ground on MAC Atrium Project
On August 1st, 2023, Tweed & Company Theatre broke ground on a stunning addition and restoration of the Marble Arts Centre in Tweed, creating the region’s foremost centre for arts and culture, and a true hub of artistic creation in our community. The MAC will be brought into the future with this stunning glass lobby atrium addition and major restoration of the theatre, dressing rooms, and front entry. Learn more about the MAC Atrium Project:

This project has been over a year in the making, and has been one of Tweed & Co.’s main priorities since the Arts Council transferred ownership of this important cultural asset in 2022.
The atrium addition is a three-phase project, commencing summer 2023. PHASES 1 and 2 will hopefully be completed by the end of this year. Depending on funding, PHASE 3 could be completed as early as 2024, or could happen over the next several years as funds come in.
This $500,000 three-phase project has already received a 50% pledge from the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund to see it through to completion. Stacked with some additional government funding and private foundation support, the project is already over 90% funded! Tweed & Co. has launched a capital campaign to fundraise the modest $100,000 remainder to see this project through to completion. As of August 1, 2023, the capital campaign is already close to $60,000, meaning only another $40,000 is needed from incredible supporters to complete this project from start to finish!
Consider adding your name to the recognition wall, and help both your contribution and arts and culture in our community thrive and have a lasting legacy!
