Highlights: October Arts & Culture Scene in Tweed
The Tweed & Area Arts Council has been working with several other local organizations to share information / coordinate the many arts / culture events happening in our community. One of the products we have prepared to help get the word out is a monthly poster calendar that highlights Tweed arts and culture events. This one is for October 2025 – please share the pdf or jpeg version! For more details on these and other events, and to learn about additional arts events in Tweed, see our events listing ! Please feel free to submit your arts or culture event to us so we can add it to the calendar. Please note that if you have questions or comments about events, contact the host organization directly via the ‘Learn More’ button on each of the individual listings in our events page.
Heads up on some items of interest:
- The current ‘In Conversation with Artists’ features fibre artist Marta Mouka. A selection of her work is on display from early October to December at the Tweed Public Library, Quinn’s of Tweed Fine Art Gallery and in the atrium at the Marble Arts Centre. Read a blog post about Marta or watch the video interview with her on our YouTube channel.
- We recently posted ‘A History of the Marble Arts Centre’, which tells the story starting with its construction as a church in 1864 through its evolution to a community arts and culture hub with the Tweed & Area Art Council and now Tweed & Company Theatre.
- During the month of October, the Tweed & Area Heritage Centre is hosting an exhibition and sale of paintings by the late Audrey Ross.
- Tweed & Company Theatre is offering theatrical performances, concerts and more at the Marble Arts Centre this season. If you haven’t yet seen the spectacular new atrium and renovated theatre space – you really should… On Friday October 10, TIFF Movies @ the MAC launches with ‘A Nice Indian Boy‘. On Saturday October 25, Tommy Youngsteen: the Very Best of Creedence Clearwater Revival will be rocking out the MAC. ‘The Rocky Horror Show‘ is playing October 29 through November 2.
- We were fortunate to be one of the local organizations that the Municipality of Tweed invited to participate in a feature article in the Fall 2025 ‘Grapevine‘ magazine. Grab a copy locally while you can, or view on-line (p. 78-84).
