Highlights: Dec. Arts & Culture Scene in Tweed
The Tweed & Area Arts Council has been working with several other local organizations to share information / coordinate the many arts / culture events happening in our community. One of the products we have prepared to help get the word out is a monthly poster calendar that highlights Tweed arts and culture events. This one is for Dec. 2024 – please share the pdf or jpeg version! There is lots happening during the holiday season, make sure you participate in the revelry! A brief summary follows…
Christmas arrives in Tweed December 4th to 7th! So many events, something for everyone…
- Tweed and Company Theatre presents ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Marble Arts Centre Dec. 4th to 7th.
- The Festival of Trees runs Dec. 5th through the 9th.
- The Tweed Agricultural Society is hosting an Outdoor Holiday Festival / Market the evening of Friday Dec. 6th.
- On Sat. the 7th, there are craft shows and markets at the Land O’ Lakes Curling Club, the Lions Hall, and the Tweed & Area Heritage Centre (the latter runs from the 4th through to the 7th).
- The Santa Claus parade is Saturday at 12:30. Afterwards, Santa will be at the Legion with complimentary hot chocolate and hotdogs.
- On Saturday, enjoy bake sales at St. John’s United Church and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The ‘Soups On’ at St. Andrew’s.
- Santa and his reindeer are coming to Rashotte Home Hardware Building Centre Saturday afternoon.
Mark your calendars for the ‘Glorious Light of Christmas’ cantata on Dec. 15th at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. The Fitzgeralds bring ‘A Canadian Christmas’ to the Marble Arts Centre on the 20th.
‘In Conversation with Artists’ exhibits featuring photographer Heather Cardle continue to the end of the month at the Tweed Public Library and Quinn’s of Tweed Fine Art Gallery.
