Queensborough Movie Nights: Pillow Talk
Queensborough Movie Nights (QMN) are back – classic movies in an historic setting, presented by the Queensborough Community Centre Committee!
Sat. Feb. 14/26: ‘Pillow Talk’ (1959), an American romantic comedy film in CinemaScope directed by Michael Gordon and starring Rock Hudson and Doris Day. It’s funny, sexy, and has amazing mid-century costumes and design. It tells the story of Jan Morrow (Day), an interior decorator, and Brad Allen (Hudson), a womanizing composer and bachelor, who share a telephone party line. When she unsuccessfully files a complaint on him for constantly using the line to woo his conquests, Brad finds out she is rather pretty and decides to trick her by masquerading as a Texas rancher. The scheme seems to work until their mutual friend Jonathan Forbes (Tony Randall) finds out about it and exposes Brad.
Movies are projected in 4K on a large screen, so it looks great! Cost: FREE “Pay-as-you-exit” – a voluntary charitable DONATION to help defray costs of licensing, etc. Guests can bring their own snacks and drinks. Fresh popcorn, water, and soft drinks are available at old-time prices.
