Tweed & Co.: A Nice Indian Boy – TIFF Movies @ the MAC
Tweed & Company Theatre are bringing TIFF films to Tweed with ‘Movies at the MAC‘. Shows are at 2 pm and 7 pm on the second Friday of each month.
First up is A Nice Indian Boy, a 2025 American romantic comedy-drama directed by Roshan Sethi. The screenplay, written by Eric Randall, was adapted from Madhuri Shekar’s acclaimed stage play. The film stars Karan Soni as Naveen Gavaskar, a shy Indian-American doctor, and Jonathan Groff as Jay Kurundkar, a free-spirited photographer raised by Indian immigrant parents. Naveen – though accepted by his traditional family – has never fully revealed his truth, until a chance meeting at a Hindu temple leads to romance, awkward introductions to family, and the longing for a grand, Indian wedding. As Jay meets Naveen’s parents (Zarna Garg and Harish Patel) and sister Arundhathi (Sunita Mani), cultural quirks and emotional resistance give way to heartfelt comedy – and a touching celebration of love, identity, and belonging. Rated PG for some language.
