The 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month – FREE! movies at the Tweed Library Thursday Theatre. Nov. 28 (note date change!) features ‘The Movie Man’ (2024). Amid a global pandemic, an entrepreneur looks back on his life’s work owning and operating an idiosyncratic cinema in the forest of northern Ontario. It’s a fond examination of the Highlands Cinema in Kinmount, Ontario. This multi-plex movie theatre is nestled in the woods, in a town that doesn’t even have a gas station and yet it has served vacationers and residents for decades. As you’ll hear, it’s no small feat keeping this theatre on its feet. Keith Stata, the owner, loves movies and he loves providing entertainment to the legion of loyal theatre goers.
