We have just the right location! The Marble Church Arts Centre is scheduled for phased completion in the fall of 2009 – that’s not too far away! – and the T&AAC is “NOW BOOKING” rental availability for performances, weddings, meetings and other functions into 2010. For further information, please contact Don Herbertson at don.herbertson@iistweed.ca and indicate what event you are planning and the preferred date(s) and time(s) of your event. Work will be continuing on the renovations and upgrades throughout 2009-10 as funding becomes available and until all six renovation phases have been completed.

OPEN HOUSE – September 19, 2009

Everyone is cordially invited to attend a Welcome Reception at the Marble Church Arts Centre on Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 5 – 7:00 p.m. You will have the opportunity to view the progress of a community pulling together during difficult times; enjoy the Centre, mingle and hear remarks from elected representatives and T&AAC officials. Refreshments will be served and a cash bar will be available. Spread the word!

Art in the Park
Another successful event in co-operation with the Kiwanis Club of Tweed. About 20 artists participated. We were so lucky again with the weather.

The children’s program was well attended and very much enjoyed. Thanks to Emily Conchie and her mother. A display of children’s art was available for viewing – this had previously been shown at the Heritage Centre.

A new feature of the day was free art workshops for seniors and others. Thanks to Maril Swan for organizing this.

Musical entertainment was provided by Scott Pettigrew, Peter Snell and the Rhythmaires.

Eugene Smith Concert

Did you miss it? Too bad – it was great! About 50 people did attend and were well rewarded for their attendance

Open now and throughout September work of local aboriginal people will be presented once again at the Heritage Centre Gallery. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to visit.
