A Letter from Jack to all his Friends.
The weekend of June 11th & 12th, 2011 promises to be a memorable one in the history of the Tweed & Area Arts Council. Saturday June 11th marks the official opening of the Marble Church Arts Centre at 1 p.m. while on Sunday June 12th our annual golf tournament takes place at the Poplars Golf Course in Tweed. I am particularly proud to tell you that my son Jonathan will be the keynote speaker at the official opening and will be playing in the tournament.

On behalf of the Tweed & Area Arts Council, I would personally like to invite you to attend these events. In particular I would encourage you to join us to play golf either as a single participant or to enter a team in the fourth annual 2011 Jack Vance Golf Classic. Last year's tournament was a great success and a lot of fun. This year we have also planned an interesting day's activities for non-golfing spouses.

Proceeds from this event will help us to continue our work towards achieving our goals, especially the refurbishing of the Marble Church Arts Centre (the former Actinolite United Church which is fast becoming a community haven for all things artistic.

I have enclosed an entry form for your convenience. When you fill it out, just mail it to the Tweed & Area Arts and our treasurer will send you a charitable tax receipt for $40 of the entry fee.

I hope to see you in June!

Jack Vance
Lt. Gen. (Ret.)
