Suzanne studied Art Appreciation Courses, periodic, informal courses in abstract &/ landscape acrylic painting; drawing, and life drawing at the Art Gallery of Ontario with direction from working artists Niki Bevelander, Jim Thornton, Cameron Sharp; Catherine Hobart and later with Terri Flazer.

Since retiring to Tweed from her career as a registered nurse, she has been able to attend workshops offered by Barry Lovegrove, Celia Sage, Doug Purdon, Leslie King and Sharon Bower.

Suzannes's work has been accepted in juried shows 'The Eye of Experience' Toronto 1999, The Belleville Library Gallery 2005, and 'Winter Fest' at Belleville's Bohemian Penguin. This year, 2009, she will show her work at Toronto's Buskerfest.

Suzanne is a member of the Belleville Art Association, the Tweed and Area Arts Council and Tweed & Area Studio Tour, participating in the various events held by these organizations.

My first attraction to the visual arts, other than enjoying many beautiful kinds of art, began when I had the opportunity of feeling clay in my hands and molding a huge pot out of slabs of clay, texturing it with vinegar and seeing the wonderful color combinations and forms arising from the little crystals subjected to the heat of the kiln. What color does all on it's own!

Later after a nursing career I began to wonder if I would have something in me that would result from 'putting brush to paint and paint to paper'.

I began doing that at the Art Gallery of Ontario over a number of years, though in a rather disjointed fashion according to other obligations of heart and soul.

It remains the joy of expression and the love of color from which my paintings arise.
