Covid-19 / 2020 Season Update
We want to provide an update in these uncertain times.
Art in the Park/Fish Fry
The Municipality of Tweed has notified the community that all events scheduled on Municipal property have been cancelled until the fall.
That means that Art in the Park and the fish fry planned for August 1 have been cancelled for 2020, but we are already booked for July 31, 2021.
So, mark your calendars and we will see you next year
Marble Arts Centre
We regret to say that our opening season at the Marble Arts Centre has been delayed until July at the earliest. We are keeping a watching brief on the requirements related to public events/health and safety. We have rescheduled the April Craig Cardiff show to Sat. Sept. 19, and the May Rick Fines concert for a date in October/November to be confirmed. The first Music with a Heart concert on May 28 has been cancelled. The Andy Forgie and Big Black Smoke
June 6 show at the Pavilion is being rescheduled to 2021. Tweed & Co. Theatre has announced that the remainder of their 2020 season is postponed to 2021. They had two events scheduled at the MAC in April and July - we look forward to seeing them again next year.
Looking to the Fall
Australian guitarist Daniel Champagne's November Canadian tour is being rescheduled to next June, so we hope to see him then. At this time, the other previously scheduled late summer/fall events are still on the calendar, but we won't be selling tickets at this time. Since our initial February season announcement, we had also booked several new shows ('pre-COVID-19') for the late summer and fall - both old favourites and performers first time to Tweed - more on that later, 'keep your fingers crossed'! In the meantime, enjoy virtual performances, do your art at home with friends and family, and consider donating to your favourite artists or arts organizations to help them through this uncertain time, when many are experiencing a sudden dramatic impact on revenues.
