MORE FROM THE BOARD

The second annual Jack Vance Golf Classic was held on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Poplars Golf Club, Tweed. Once again, the weather was perfect; the company fun, the golfing enjoyable and the meal delicious.

This really has turned into an event that shouldnít be missed Ö and this year entertainment was provided by Scott Pettigrew and friend just to add to an already fun-filled day.

68 golfers played in the tournament and about $8,000 was raised for the Marble Church Arts Centre.

We must tale this opportunity to thank our sponsors once again for helping to make this such a huge success.

The overall tournament sponsor was RBC Dominion Securities.

Hole sponsors were Boyd Findlay, Bush Furniture, Don Woods Fuels, Dr, Ryan Fitzpatrick & Dr. John Weido, Gaylord Hardwood Flooring, IDA Dellarís Drug Store, Inova Opticians, J. Ivan Fenton, Lyman Holmes Excavating, Marlin Travel, Rayburn Insurance Brokers Ltd., St. Carthagh Catholic School, The Co-operators, Town and Country Carpentry, Tweed Chiropractic, Tweed Hungerford Senior School, Tweed Valu-Mart, Wayneís Auto World.

Special thanks to the Committee members and the donors of the prizes and grab bags.

Thank you to Jack, Rita and Ken Gorman for making us feel so welcome and treating us so well.
